Activities
Jyväskylä Art Museum nurtures the cultural heritage of visual arts in Central Finland, producing and transmitting experiences and knowledge of pictorial culture in interaction with its community. In addition, the museum creates and develops new forms and models of activity.
Events and workshops are free of charge unless otherwise stated.

Gallery Ratamo
Ratamo Printmaking and Photography Centre
Ratamo Printmaking and Photography Centre includes Galleria Ratamo along with both printmaking and photography studios, and is geared for those interested in creating, experimenting and learning printmaking and photographic techniques.
Galleria Ratamo primarily represents printmaking and photography, and shows roughly twelve exhibitions per year.

Research and Publications
Research
Research facilitation is one of a museum’s principle services. The Jyväskylä Art Museum focuses on research related specifically to Central Finnish artists or to Central Finnish visual art in general. The museum acts as an information source, a communicator and promoter of research material for the public through exhibitions, books, internet publications, lectures as well as through guided tours and other public relations activities.

The Centre for Creative Photography
Set up in 1989, the Centre for Creative Photography is an association dedicated to advancing photography as an art form and making it more widely known among the public.

For Artist
Galleria Ratamo organizes exhibitions for printmaking, drawing and photography based work.
Printmaking and drawing exhibitions can be applied for from Jyväskylä Art Museum and photography exhibitions from the Centre for Creative Photography.
Submissions for Printmaking and Drawing Exhibitions
Jyväskylä Art Museum organizes 6-8 exhibitions per year. Each exhibition is programmed for 3 ½ weeks.
The application deadline for exhibitions in 2025 is April 30, 2024. The decisions will be made by the end of May.
Guest Room
Situated in Jyväskylä city centre, the guest room can be rented by visitors looking for peaceful accommodation in Jyväskylä.
The accommodation comprises two separate rooms (one single room and one double room) and a shared kitchen and bathroom. The facilities include TV, sheets and towels.
The room can be rented at a very reasonable price: 40 € a day / single room and 60 € a day / 2 persons /double room.
