City of Jyväskylä grants

This page is a summary of information about the various grants the City of Jyväskylä may offer. More specific information about application criteria, application instructions and exact application periods may be found at the respective administrative branch’s own grant pages.

Elevator and accessibility grants

Apply at any time. This grant may be awarded to a residential building organized as a limited liability housing company for the construction of a block of flats lift, or else the removal of a structural impediment to enable a person with reduced mobility to access the residential building and its apartments and communal spaces from the outside. The grants will be awarded, subject to available funds, after ARA (the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland) has approved the project’s budget and awarded it a state lift subsidy or accessibility subsidy. Civic activity grants

Application period is 9.-31.1.2023. These grants may be awarded to subsidize resident and community activities by associations and organizations, other civic activities and multicultural activities. More information: civic activity grants.

Renovation grants

Apply at any time. From the beginning of 2017 onwards all state renovation subsidies will be awarded by ARA (the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland). These grants may be awarded for the renovation of the dwellings of elderly and disabled person, as well as to housing companies to construct lifts and improve accessibility. More information: renovation grants.

Cultural activity grants

Application period is 9.-31.1.2023. These grants may be awarded to cultural organizations, communities and working groups for cultural and art activities open to all, as well as to private artists to offset costs of renting working spaces. More information: cultural grants.

Sport and exercise grants

Application period is 9.-31.1.2023. These grants may be awarded for sporting associations and adaptive sport organizations to pursue their core activities, as well as for projects intended to result in sporting activities or services. More information: sport and exercise grants.

Youth grants

Application period is 3.-31.1.2023. These grants may be awarded for such youth activities by youth associations, ad hoc groups and organizations as to encourage and enable youth independence, communal responsibility, healthy lifestyles and respect for life and the environment. More information: youth grants.

Employment services grants

Application period is 9.-31.1.2023. These grants may be awarded to associations and foundations fundamentally engaged in labour market promotion. More information: employment services grants (in Finnish).
