Rental of allotment garden

The city of Jyväskylä has 428 allotment plots in seven different areas. Plots are usually 100 m2 in size. The plots are of different sizes, and their prices depend on the size and services.

Novice allotment gardener – rent your own city allotment now, in the spring

The allotment garden plots have been opened to rent for new gardeners. Rental begins on 11 April at 10 a.m.

Marketplace spots

Market trade is carried out in several locations in the City. Saleable products include vegetables, berries, fish, pastries and handicrafts.

The Market Square sales spots, the second-hand sales spots on Sepänaukio Square and Christmas tree sales spots are subject to a price specified annually by the City, but the spots at other sales locations do not involve a fee.

You can get a detached house by buying it, having it built or by building it yourself. Information on owning a detached house, a terraced house or an apartment in a block of flats is given at estate agents and banks.

Local transportation by buses

The green "Linkki" buses take care of the local transportation in Jyväskylä. Public transportation of Jyväskylä region is organized by the City of Jyväskylä. Linkki public transportation web pages can be found at linkki.jyvaskyla.fi

Cycling and walking

Cycling

Many people in Jyväskylä use a bicycle, especially during the summer. Special cycle paths must be followed when cycling and if there is no cycle path, the cyclist must use the roadway. Cycling is prohibited on the pavement unless there is a road sign showing it is also a cycle path.

Jyväskylä’s cycle routes are marked on the Cycle Route-map. You can get Cycle Route-maps from Jyväskylä Region Tourist Office for free.

Plots

The City of Jyväskylä annually sells or leases approximately 80 plots for single-family houses. New plots are usually handed out in the spring and autumn. Otherwise, available plots may be applied for on a monthly basis. As a rule, a separate application form is used for applying for city lots. The city also sells lots on the basis of competitive tendering.

The City of Jyväskylä offers companies an abundant but varying range of corporate lots next to the best traffic connections.

Living
