This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of artist Wilho Sjöström (1873–1944). During his lifetime, Sjöström was one of Finland's best-known painters, professor and an influential figure in the Finnish art life. Sjöström was also active in Central Finland. He spent long periods in Viitasaari and painted in Laukaa, Korpilahti, Saarijärvi, Suolahti and Keuruu, as well.
The exhibition Time presents an extensive selection of internationally acclaimed Finnish photographer Elina Brotherus' works throughout her career.
Elina Brotherus works since more than twenty years in photography and moving image. Her work has been alternating between autobiographical and art-historical approaches.
Annu Vertanen (born 1960) is one of the internationally most renowned Finnish printmakers. The Cellular Matrix exhibition showcases the artist's work spanning her long career, featuring not only prints but also watercolor paintings, videos, and sculptures.
