Research permits for Early Childhood Care and Basic Education

A separate permit is needed for collecting information within early childhood education and care and primary and lower secondary education (basic education) for the research, final project or thesis project purposes.  

In the event that any confidential information is needed for the research, final project or thesis project purposes, a permit must also be applied for from each person whom confidential information apply to. If children, whose behaviour will be monitored, are wanted to be included in the research group , a permit must also be obtained from the persons who have custody of a child.

Students and researchers collecting the research material can visit a day care centre for children or a school as agreed. It is recommended that there is only one collector of the research material at a time visiting the day care centre or the school and that child observation will be carried out by taking into account health, safe distance and hygiene practices. The applicant will be provided with a decision in writing on the granted Research Permit. The person who has been granted a Research Permit during the coronavirus epidemic will also be provided with separate instructions for the purpose of implementing the research in the day care centre for children.
