At its meeting, the Youth Council commented on the update on the development of growth and learning services. The Youth Council was also presented with opportunities for the participation of young people with disabilities. In addition, the Youth Council decided to begin investigating the possibility of new committee positions.

The unofficial Finnish lead and solo guitar championship will be held in Jyväskylä in the spring, when the Tilumestari 2026 competition is organized for the first time. The competition is aimed at Finnish young people aged 13–29.

Ohjaamo Jyväskylä will provide enhanced support for career planning and finding a suitable field of study during weeks 8, 10 and 11 in February and March. Study guidance is available during week 11 also in English.

Lomalokki, a guide to winter break camps and other activities for children and young people, has been published. Lomalokki includes activities organized by the City of Jyväskylä, associations, and organizations for schoolchildren during the winter break week from February 23 to March 1, 2026.

The City of Jyväskylä's youth services are organizing two winter holiday camps, one of which will be held at the Palokka youth center for children born between 2011 and 2013. The winter holiday games camp at the Kuokkala youth center is aimed at children born between 2008 and 2012.

Ohjaamo Jyväskylä is celebrating nationwide Ohjaamo Week from February 9 to 13. During Ohjaamo Week, Nuorten Talo in Jyväskylä will offer even more workshops and advice than usual. The nationwide theme for Ohjaamo Week is employment.

Every year, the Jyväskylä Youth Council organizes a project funding summit, where €17,000 is distributed to projects run by young people. This year, the Youth Council's project funding, for which applications must be submitted by February 28, is intended for project groups in upper secondary schools, high schools, vocational schools, youth centers, and organizations, as well as for independent youth groups.

The skating season, which started on the city's artificial ice rinks, is now in full swing, and the natural ice rinks are gradually opening up to skaters.

The results of the 2025 national Move! measurements have been completed. The results of 5th and 8th graders in Jyväskylä have improved in almost all areas. In the overall results, Jyväskylä ranks clearly above the national average in both grades. The results also improved in the comparison of the country's 10 largest cities: Jyväskylä rose from last year's fourth place to number one in the comparison.

The two-year Väkivallaton nuoruus - nuorten katuväkivallan ehkäisyhanke ("Non-violent youth - youth street violence prevention project") will be implemented in Jyväskylä between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2027. The project will develop a youth work team in Jyväskylä that will increase youth work on the streets and in residential areas.

The University of Jyväskylä and Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) are organizing Applicant Day on Friday, November 7. This free event provides information about university studies and the application process. A free non-stop bus will run between the campuses, and during the bus ride, a city guide will tell you what Jyväskylä has to offer students. The event will be held in Finnish. There is a separate event for international applicants every year.

The Musamessut music fair will be held for the sixth time on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At the fair, held at Jyväskylä's Veturitallit, Finnish instrument makers and leading international importers will showcase their instruments and new products.
