    The City of Jyväskylä has achieved the second place in overall impression among cities with over 100,000 inhabitants in the 2024 Kuntien imago survey conducted by Taloustutkimus. The study evaluates the performance of municipalities as perceived by companies and business decision-makers. Jyväskylä's most notable improvements were in the categories of business-friendliness and cooperation between the city and companies. Additionally, the city made significant progress in promoting international expertise and labor immigration compared to the previous year. Overall, Jyväskylä's business image ranks as above average. In the study, Jyväskylä achieved a general score of 7.61, exceeding the national average of 7.44.

    The Finnish round of the World Rally Championship, or Secto Rally Finland, returned this year to its full four-day glory after the difficult coronavirus period. A total of 230,000 spectators were recorded in Jyväskylä and Central Finland, the visitor record was broken in Harju, and the Finnish World Cup Rally left a jackpot of income behind for the Jyväskylä region and Central Finland.

Jyväskylä a vibrant and growing city

Jyväskylä is the 3rd most popular city to move to in Finland, particularly for families with children, and has the 4th best city image in Finland overall. Jyväskylä is one of the fastest growing cities in Finland, current population being 143 000. During 2000-2014 population growth was 20 000 residents.

Jyväskylä's areas of expertise include ICT and security solutions, machines and equipment, energy and environmental technologies, as well as wellness technology, nanotechnology and education expertise. At the moment there are about 60,000 jobs and around 7 900 companies in Jyväskylä.
