Exercise and sport events

Jyväskylä is a versatile and vibrant event city with 5000 events held every year. Various sport events have established their status in Jyväskylä and several Finnish and World Championship competitions from different sport-genres are held yearly in the city.

Annual events

Jyväskylä Ski Marathon
The Euroloppet-divisions skiing event in the great terrain of Jyväskylä presents challenges for racers and excitement and experiences for fitness skiers.

Huipulla tuulee / Summit storms
Huipulla tulee brings together sports-minded business influencers. This easy-going seminar tackles experiences and insights into leadership, coaching, endurance and delivering results.

Jyväskylä Cup
Jyväskylä Cup is a traditional boys football tournament, which has been arranged since 1985. Each year, the tournament brings together around 2000 enthusiastic football players to the grass fields of Jyväskylä.

Päijänne Sailing
The biggest inland sailing competition in Finland, which raced in the distance between Jyväskylä and Padasjoki.

Rally Finland
The annual Rally World Championship brings together friends of rally in Jyväskylä from around the world. The legendary and fast gravel roads are enjoyable for both drivers and spectators.

Comets Cup
The annual boys' football tournament, the Comets Cup, gathers thousands of young footballers in Jyväskylä along with their support teams.

Beach volleyball Finnish championship finals
The Beach volleyball season culminates in the Jyväskylä finals. Finland's best players will meet in a three-day final-tournament, which will distribute both the junior and adult division medals. There are also competitions for junior championships and an open tour tournament.

HIPPO-tournament
A traditional girls' autumn tournament with nearly 200 football teams participating each year with their service and support teams.

Finlandia Marathon
The Jyväskylä Rantaraitti, awarded the most beautiful traffic route in Finland, will be the route for the nation's own sporting event.

Red Bull Crashed Ice
The World Championships of downhill skating have been conducted in Laajavuori since 2016.

Finnish championships-Hallit M/N30 +
Wide-ranging athletics-division where adult athletes compete in Hipposhalli for Finnish championship medals in February.

Motonet GP
Wide-ranging athletics GP-division competition, held for the first time also in Jyväskylä, on June 19, 2019. The competition can also be seen on the YLE channels, broadcasted from the Harju Stadium.

The Finnish Gymnastics Federation championships 
Gymnastics Jyväskylä will organize the Finnish Gymnastics Federation Championships in Hipposhalli on May 3 - 5, 2019. More than a thousand female and male gymnasts will participate in the competitions.

Finnish championship-Duathlon 11.5.2019
Championships of the Duathlon Sprint Tour will be held at Luonetjärventie in Tikkakoski.

Sport Science Days 28–29.8.2019
During the sports science days, scientific information related to sports is passed on to sports and health professionals, researchers, decision-makers and information users, as well as others interested. The days promote interaction between researchers and information users.

National Sports Forum
The 7th National Sports Forum will be held on October 28-29 2016, under the theme "Knowledge Management". The National Sports Forum is a societal interaction arena between exercise and sport. Its aim is to strengthen the societal impact and weight of exercise and sports.
