Health and working capacity

If you live in Jyväskylä and are unemployed, you have the opportunity to visit a nurse. The nurse will conduct a health check-up on you. The health check-up is free of charge. A health check-up supports your health and opportunities to work. A nurse will examine and assess your health and your ability to work.

The health check-up includes:

• An interview where the patient provides basic information on their health and ability to work
• During the check-up the patient’s blood pressure, weight, height and waist circumference are measured.
• The filling out of forms
• Finding out which medicines and vitamins you are taking
• If needed, the nurse will book you an appointment for laboratory tests.
• If necessary, the nurse will refer you for further examinations.

The objectives of the health check-up are:
- to find out what affects the patient’s ability to work
- to map out the patient’s current state of health and how it could be improved
