Music practice rooms (Main library)
Music Department, on the third floor of the Main Library, has four soundproof music practice rooms that you can book free of charge.
Komppi users please note! You will need a library card to make a reservation. Customers will be charged a fee of two (2) euros in those cases where they leave the reserved time in Komppi unused without canceling the reservation. The fee change is valid from May 6, 2024.
Komppi
The band and karaoke room Komppi has band instruments (all stringed instruments are right-handed), DJ equipment, Singa karaoke selection and karaoke equipment, all Rockway music courses and Cubase recording software:

- electric bass
- keyboard
- electric drums
- vocal microphones
- various rhythm instruments
- 2 turntables
- Serato mixer
- iPad for Singa-karaoke and a large screen
- a computer with Rockway music courses and Cubase recording software

You can also play your own acoustic instruments in the rooms.
Booking and cancelling your reservation
You can book the practice rooms for up to two hours a day and up to two weeks in advance. Please remember to cancel your booking if you cannot make it. You can cancel or modify your booking from the confirmation message that has been sent to your email. At the end of the message there is a link that says 'Siirrä aikaa'. Clicking on it will allow you to cancel your booking.
Please note: There are occasional glitches in the booking calendar. Even if you receive an error message when making a booking and you don't receive a confirmation email, the booking is still likely to be saved in the calendar. You can verify this by contacting the library's customer service.

The music practice rooms are for private practice only, not for paid educational use. Nor can you reserve the facilities for any other use such as studying, interviews, etc.
Please be considerate of other users of the music rooms and use fragrances in moderation. Perfumes cause headaches and nausea for many people.
