An apprenticeship is a route to a profession while working

An apprenticeship is a fixed-term contract that allows you to acquire a new profession or diversify your skills. You can study either a full qualification or individual parts of a qualification. Basically, an apprenticeship can led to any type of upper secondary vocational qualification.

An apprenticeship is ideal for people changing fields or to acquire new skills in your field. You can also use an apprenticeship to continue your studies. You need to find a job on your own to start your apprenticeship or discuss a suitable job with your personal coach. You must also apply for an apprenticeship at the training provider. Agree with your personal coach in advance about applying for an apprenticeship.

The benefits of the apprenticeship for the student

  1. you get paid for your work during your studies
  2. complete a vocational qualification while working
  3. you get to learn your skills in real working life situations
  4. get the specific skills you need for the job.
