13.4.2026The City of Jyväskylä honors individual, pair and team athletes from Jyväskylä who have won a Finnish championship or a medal at the Finnish Championships, European Championships, World Championships or Olympic Championships, or who belong to Jyväskylä-based sports clubs, twice a year, in the spring and autumn. The June celebration will honour athletes who have been successful between 1.10.2025 and 30.4.2026.

14.4.2026The unofficial Finnish championship in lead and solo guitar playing will be decided for the first time in Jyväskylä, as the Tilumestari 2026 guitar competition reaches its final at Veturitallit on 25 April 2026. The competition is aimed at young guitarists aged 13–29.Image

13.4.2026Soprano Emma Kajander has had to cancel her appearance in Jyväskylä Sinfonia’s Messiah concert on April 16 due to illness. The soprano soloist for the concert will be Kaisa Ranta, who received critical acclaim for her leading role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Jyväskylä Opera earlier this year.Image
