The general rules and regulations for sports facilities are binding on all users of sports facilities administered and maintained by the City of Jyväskylä, as well as on persons visiting or staying at sports facilities. In addition to the general rules and regulations for sports facilities, users of swimming halls and gyms are bound by specific instructions for these sports facilities.
1. Sports facilities are primarily intended for use in physical exercise, sports and events. Various sports and physical activities may be practiced in designated and reserved areas at specified times. All disruptive and threatening behavior is prohibited at sports facilities. Instructions and regulations issued by staff regarding order and safety must be followed. The use of sports facilities is subject to the terms and conditions of use.
2. The content or nature of an event or occasion held at a sports facility may not conflict with legislation, the city's values or the equality and non-discrimination plan, nor may it otherwise be contrary to good practice. Sports facilities may not be used for activities that are racist or discriminatory against certain groups of people, for example.
3. Users of sports facilities must only use services, equipment and devices that are suitable for them and their skill level, and must take care of any personal belongings they bring to the facility. Lost property must be handed over to staff or the police.
4. The exercise equipment and other equipment at the sports facility may only be used for their intended purpose and must be returned to their place after use. Any damage or breakage of equipment must be reported to the staff immediately.
5. Sports services have the right to close the sports facility partially or completely due to renovation work, weather conditions, events, or exceptional circumstances.
6. Bringing intoxicating or narcotic substances to sports facilities, consuming them, and being under their influence at sports facilities is prohibited, except in areas designated for the serving of alcohol during events with special permission or notification.
7. Sports facilities in the city of Jyväskylä are smoke-free. Smoking or the use of snus, nicotine pouches, or similar products is prohibited in sports facilities and their immediate vicinity.
8. No one's physical or psychological integrity may be violated. Behavior that violates sexual integrity and photography in toilets, saunas, washing facilities, and changing rooms is prohibited.
9. Bringing animals to sports facilities is prohibited without permission from the sports services.
10. Damage caused intentionally or through negligence must be compensated in accordance with applicable legislation.
11. The use of fragrances should be limited in sports facilities, and fragrance-free products should be preferred.
12. Any person or group that violates these rules or fails to follow the instructions or orders given by staff may be asked to leave the sports facility and/or be banned from using the facility for a specified period of time.
13. In addition to these rules and regulations, the sports services may issue more specific instructions for individual sports facilities.
Public order and safety in public places is governed by the Public Order Act (27.6.2003/612), which came into force in 2003. In the Act, a public place refers to, among other things, beaches, sports fields, and buildings that are available for public use either during an event or otherwise. The rules and regulations for sports facilities promote both internal order and safety and comfort in sports facilities.
