Petra Koivisto: Moment
15.5.–7.6.2026
In my monotype work, the plate is like a blank page in a diary or notebook. I don’t turn it over or sketch an image; instead, I want my work to be as free as possible, happening in the moment. I let the things and events I’ve seen and experienced influence my work. The rolling of the slab and the layers of paint are like layers of thought.
In my work, the landscape has always been more of a mental landscape. I don’t set out to depict any specific landscape; rather, the landscape is more of a place where anything can happen. It evolves alongside the changes in my life and is constantly refined and shaped by my thoughts at that moment. The works are a visual representation of life, blending elements from the past with the present.
