Traineeships

It is possible to apply for a traineeship, and there are various jobs in different fields available. We have trainees in a range of positions, including in social and health care institutions, teacher training and cultural and technical fields. In addition, City of Jyväskylä organizes trainee possibilities in the Art Workshop for young adults.The purpose of the art workshop is to gain work experience and motivation by using arts.

Thesis opportunities

Summer jobs

The application period for summer jobs aimed at school children and students is between February and March every year. The length of employment varies from two weeks to three months. Available jobs are announced on the city's website.

Subsidised employment

The city’s service units employ more than 200 people yearly with the aid of employment appropriation. The city employs primarily long-term unemployed and young people, who receive wage subsidies from the employment office. The conditions for receiving subsidies are determined by the employment office. The decision on employment is made by the branch of administration or the service unit that has informed the employment office about available jobs.
