Taideapteekki tour brings sing alongs, dance, music, and nature photography to libraries in Jyväskylä

There will be a wide variety of music on offer this fall. At the Main Library, Tikkakoski, and Huhtasuo, people will come together to sing timeless classics at the familiar “Laulusta voimaa” sing-along events. Musicians Jonna and Alvi Ortju and Niko Saloheimo will lead the singing.

In Säynätsalo and Palokka, participants will follow in Struve’s footsteps, from the atmosphere of the 19th century to the present day, to explore the history behind the Struve Geodetic Arc, a World Heritage Site. The topic will be explored under the guidance of Aaro Vuotila, an actor and musician from Teatterikone, through themed songs and stories.

Singer Sini Pajunen and jazz guitarist Tuomas Paukku will be performing in Vesanka, Korpilahti, and Keljonkangas. The set list for the shows includes jazz standards as well as pop and schlager music from various decades.

Jyväskylä Dance Institute’s drop-in sessions in Vaajakoski, Halssila, and Kuokkala, provide an introduction to artistic dance. Under the guidance of the dance institute’s instructors, you can try out steps from ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance.

Photographer Keijo Penttinen has taken photos from all over Finland and put together photo and video presentations that take viewers on a journey through Finland’s natural landscapes. He will be visiting the libraries in Lohikoski, Kortepohja, and Keltinmäki. During the presentations, participants will also have the opportunity to discuss and share their own experiences of nature.
