MuseoFest returns on 14 November 2026 – Secure your place with an Early Bird ticket!

Embark on a journey where history, art, architecture and culture come to life. An Early Bird ticket also gives you the opportunity to secure a place at events with limited capacity.

Visitor feedback from last year's festival has been carefully considered, and this year the event will take place on a Saturday with a more relaxed timetable, allowing visitors to make the most of their festival wristband. The programme has been reorganised by venue, with more time allocated for travelling between museums. Once again, the MuseoFest wristband opens the door to inspiring experiences at Aalto2 Museum Centre, the Craft Museum of Finland, Jyväskylä Art Museum, University of Jyväskylä Museum, the Finnish Air Force Museum, and Ratamo Centre for Printmaking and Photography.

- The MuseoFest concept enables museums to offer unique experiences that are rarely available to the public. This joint effort by the museums of the Jyväskylä region gives visitors the chance to discover museums from an entirely new perspective. Personally, I am most looking forward to spending the twilight hours at the Studio Home of the Heiska Family and to experiencing the combination of architecture and electronic music at Aalto2 Museum Centre, says Maija Talja, Community Coordinator at the Museum of Central Finland.

Early Bird ticket sales begin on 1 August and continue throughout August. Festival wristbands are available from the Aalto2 Museum Centre online shop at the special Early Bird price of €20 (normally €28). Holders of a Museum Card and students can enjoy the full day's programme for just €16 (normally €22).

Choose your favourites from the extensive programme or simply let curiosity lead you from one museum to the next. MuseoFest offers something for everyone. Highlights include the ever-popular guided tours of the museum collections storage facilities at Kanavuori, a lecture on the witches of Central Finland, and a felt slipper fashion show. Visitors can browse the Finds & Treasures – Alvar Aalto Museum Market, delve into the world of graffiti through a lecture or workshop, or discover how fighter aircraft are conserved at the Finnish Air Force Museum. As last year, MuseoFest will conclude with an evening of dancing at Aalto2 Museum Centre. The full programme will be published on 1 September 2026.

Please note that some events, such as the guided tours of the Kanavuori collections storage facilities, have very limited capacity. Early Bird ticket holders will be the first to register for these events, as booking links will be sent exclusively to those who have purchased a ticket.

During the festival, visitors can travel between venues on foot, by bicycle or free of charge on Jyväskylä's Linkki local buses. Simply scan the QR code on your festival wristband when boarding a Linkki service and enjoy a relaxed journey to your next museum.

Throughout the day, your festival wristband also grants admission to the participating museums' permanent and temporary exhibitions.
