The park is a popular spot for outdoor activities and photography, especially during the rhododendron blooming season. The park’s walking trails, complete with boardwalks, are suitable even for young children, but the trails are not wheelchair accessible.

The park gets crowded easily
If you plan to visit the park, please be aware of its popularity and the large number of visitors. The park can get crowded.
To protect the plantings, please use only the designated paths; you are not allowed to wander freely through the park. Do not damage the plants in the park or pick them to take home. Instead, capture the flowers on your camera as a keepsake.
The Rhododendron Park in Jyväskylä was established in 1986 as part of a breeding program for rhododendrons suited to the Finnish climate. Mäyrämäki Park is, in fact, one of Finland’s first rhododendron parks.
