Jyväskylä's summer of events is here again

The city is once again bustling with a wide variety of cultural and sporting events. Among the summer’s highlights are the Kalevan Kisat and the Secto Rally Finland, which bring tens of thousands of visitors to Jyväskylä.

Secto Rally Finland celebrates its 75th anniversary in Jyväskylä

The most exciting week of the summer is just around the corner, as the Secto Rally Finland—part of the FIA World Rally Championship—brings the world’s best rally drivers and rally fans to Jyväskylä from July 30th to August 2nd. This year’s event is special, as the legendary race celebrates its 75th anniversary. 

The greatest games ever Kalevan Kisat at the new Harju stadium

The 7th Kalevan Kisat will be held in Jyväskylä from the 24th to the 26th of July. Finland’s most-watched track and field event of the year will bring all the country’s top athletes and rising stars to Harju. It’s easy to follow the competitions at Finland’s most beautiful track and field stadium, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. 

The Suomipop Festival brings the concert atmosphere to Lutakonaukio

The Suomipop Festival takes place from 9th to 11 July at Lutakonaukio, right in the heart of the city. The event brings together leading names in Finnish pop and rock music and offers a diverse lineup of performances over three days.

The grand opening of Harju Stadium on Saturday, July 4th

The renovated stadium will open on Saturday, July 4th. The opening event, organized by the City of Jyväskylä, is free of charge and open to all residents.

The Jyväskylä Summer takes place from July 1st to 7th. During the summer’s most diverse week of events, visitors can enjoy concerts, theater, park celebrations, exhibitions, and science-based discussion programs.

On Midsummer weekend, June 20–21, the Killeri Racetrack will be filled with the joyful wagging of tails and an international atmosphere as the Jyväskylä Dog Show brings dog lovers together.
