The nature trail season starts in Jyväskylä with spring improvements

New outhouse and woodshed to be used on the accessible nature trail in Haukanniemi

A maintenance building with a toilet and a woodshed has been completed on the accessible nature trail in Haukanniemi. Both will be available from 15 May.

The firewood in the woodshed is intended to be burned in the accessible half-hut of Haukanniemi, and the city asks city residents to use firewood in moderation. The code for the lock of the service building can be accessed when you log in as a user of the nature trail. The login page can be accessed on site with a mobile device with a QR code that can be found on the information board on the door of the woodshed. The QR code can also be found on the city's website, so you can log in in advance. After logging in, you will receive the key code for the lock in your email.

Firewood and kindling must not be collected from the terrain. During the wildfire warning, campfires are also prohibited at the Haukanniemi half-hut.

The outhouse is accessible. The stairs of the woodshed will be replaced with an accessible ramp in the autumn and summer after the birds' nesting season has ended. 
 

Poetry paintings delight on the Iso Haapasaari nature trail

The information boards on the Iso Haapasaari nature trail have been renewed during the spring. There are now also poetry boards on the nature trail, for which the Jyväskylä-based poet A.P. Kivinen created a series of poems commissioned by Lehto's children, inspired by the Iso Haapasaari nature trail. The illustrations on the poetry paintings are by visual artist Jenni Toikkanen from Jyväskylä.

There will be a temporary closure on the Tikkakoski nature trail on Thursday 14.5.

Suunta Jyväskylä organizes a bicycle orienteering event on the Tikkakoski nature trail on Thursday 14 May. At that time, the nature trail will be closed to other users for safety reasons.
