Jyväskylä Art Museum will be closed during its maintenance week from April 27 to May 3

During the May Day week, work related to changing the exhibition as well as floor waxing will be carried out at the museum. The gallery exhibition Dialogues will continue after the break starting from Tuesday, May 5.

Jyväskylä Art Museum is preparing for the installation of its summer exhibition and will be closed during the museum’s maintenance week from April 27 to May 3, 2026. During the closure, dismantling and construction work related to the exhibition changeover will be carried out, along with floor waxing.

The museum will reopen to the public after the maintenance week on Tuesday, May 5. At that time, the ground-floor Gallery exhibition Dialogues: Raimo Reinikainen & Tuomo Blomqvist will continue until May 24, 2026. Admission to the Gallery will be free from May 5 to May 15 while the main exhibition on the upper floors is being installed.

After the closing of the COLOUR exhibition, the upper floors of the art museum will remain closed due to the exhibition changeover from April 27 to May 15. On Saturday, May 16, we will celebrate the opening day of our summer main exhibition, Kirsi Neuvonen – TUNNEMAAILMA / TUNNE ● MAAILMA. At the same time, we will take part in Yläkaupungin Yö, and the museum will offer free admission throughout the day and will be exceptionally open until 8 PM.
