The event will be opened at 1:30 p.m. by Mayor Timo Koivisto, followed by Anna Korpi-Kyyny and Heikki Kiviluoto from the marketing communications agency Hansdotter, who will present Hippos' new brand image.

Project Manager Ville Niskakangas will present Hippos as a whole, and comments will be provided by Heli Toivola, Communications Director at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, and Anniina Havukainen, Producer at Nelonen Media Live. At the end of the event, Emmi Hyvönen, Communications Director at the City of Jyväskylä, will shed light on the next steps in Hippos' marketing. The live broadcast of the event will end at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The Hippos area brand was developed in collaboration with current and future operators in the area at the end of last year and early this year through thematic interviews and networking workshops. The city's partner in the process was Hansdotter, a marketing communications agency based in Turku.

- As a result of this collaboration, Hippos now has an attractive and versatile brand that serves local operators and attracts athletes, event organizers, researchers, and businesses from near and far to Jyväskylä, the sports capital of Finland, says Emmi Hyvönen, Communications Director for the City of Jyväskylä.

- Together with the people of Jyväskylä, we designed a versatile look and message that reflects the vibrant and inspiring community that is forming around the new Hippos, say designers Anna Korpi-Kyyny and Heikki Kiviluoto from Hansdotter.

The completed brand will support the marketing and communications of the area and, once launched, will be available for use by all operators in the area. Practical applications will be seen from spring 2026 onwards in the communications and marketing of the Hippos area.

You can follow the construction of the new Hippos area on the city's website at www.jyvaskyla.fi/hippos and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/jyvaskylanhippos
