The supplementary application for the English-speaking classes of Kortepohja Daycare School takes place on 12.-25.1.2026
The supplementary application process for English-speaking classes in grades 2–6 of basic education in Jyväskylä for the academic year starting in August will be implemented in the Wilma system on 12.-25.1.2026. The guardians have received a Wilma message with more detailed instructions on how to apply, on language skills testing and the selection criteria. Decisions on admissions will be made in March.
Students from other municipalities can also apply. A prerequisite for admission is the receipt of a financial obligation from the pupil's municipality of residence. In this case, the pupil's guardians are also responsible for the arrangements and costs of school commute.
The teaching of English-speaking classes is large-scale bilingual education. 40% of the teaching is given in Finnish and 60% in English. Teaching in English follows the curriculum and assessment of the City of Jyväskylä.
The English-speaking classes for grades 1–6 of basic education in Jyväskylä are located at Kortepohja Daycare School and the groups for grades 7–9 at Viitaniemi School.
