Jyväskylä City Strategy update is underway - answer the strategy questionnaire and win a gift card!

The city strategy guides the city's operations and resource allocation in the upcoming council term. The strategy is a tool for allocating the city's activities and resources. The City Council will decide on the strategy. The goal is to have the updated strategy ready for implementation by the end of 2025.

The strategy guides the city's direction for the future

The goal of the update is to align the current strategy with changes in the city's operating environment and within the city itself and decide the spearheads for the upcoming years. The strategy also guides the allocation of the tax funds and city budget and thus directs the city's operations in the coming years.

- Since the strategy guides the city's decision-making for several years, it's important to identify factors affecting the well-being of Jyväskylä and its residents during the update. We're tweaking the strategy to fit our environment and goals, making choices, and focusing on things that matter to us. That's why it's crucial to get input from residents, staff, and other stakeholders, says Development Manager Iiris Asunmaa, who is in charge of the preparation of the update.

Be part of the final evaluation of the strategy - answer the questionnaire and participate in a lottery for gift cards  

As a basis for the new council's strategy work, the current strategy and its success over the 4-year strategy period is evaluated. The questionnaire is available in Finnish and English. So, share your views on the success of the strategy's spearheads!

By answering the questionnaire, you provide valuable information for the preparation and contribute to identifying the phenomena affecting the well-being of Jyväskylä and its residents and what aspects should be taken into account in the strategy update.  

Respondents can also choose to participate in a draw. Prizes include gift cards to the AaltoAlvari swimming hall and product prizes. Responding is quick and takes about 10 minutes of your time. Responses are processed anonymously. The questionnaire is open for answers untin 7th of March.

A residents' panel of different ages will also support the strategy work - will you be the one receiving the invitation in March?  

A panel of residents will also be assembled to work on the strategy. The invitation to the panel will be sent to 2500 Jyväskylä residents selected randomly, representing different age groups and neighborhoods. After registration, the final composition of the panel will be assembled to represent Jyväskylä in a "miniature". The final panel could include e.g. schoolchildren, students, people in employment, job-seekers, and pensioners.
