The guardians have received a Wilma message with more detailed instructions on how to apply, on language skills testing and the selection criteria.

The supplementary application process for English-speaking classes in grades 2–6 of basic education in Jyväskylä for the academic year starting in August will be implemented in the Wilma system on 9.-24.1.2025.   The language test days are 12.-14.2.2025. Decisions on admissions will be made in March.

Students from other municipalities can also apply. A prerequisite for admission is the receipt of a financial commitment from the pupil's municipality of residence. In this case, the pupil's guardians are also responsible for the arrangements and costs of school commute.

The teaching of English-speaking classes is large-scale bilingual education. 40% of the teaching is given in Finnish and 60% in English. Teaching in English follows the curriculum and assessment of the City of Jyväskylä.

The English-speaking classes for grades 1–6 of basic education in Jyväskylä are located at Kortepohja Daycare School and the groups for grades 7–9 at Viitaniemi School.
