“In the event, I was able to meet amazingly skilled people on different organizations and hierarchy levels.” says Leiriane Pires Rios, a student in the University of Jyväskylä.

As a student ambassador at JYU and currently working in collaboration with the City of Jyväskylä, I am very thankful that I got the opportunity to attend The Kasvu Open event. It was a great experience to be there with my colleague, Tanja Oksa, who works for the City. I also met the CEO of Kasvu Open, and she told us about the working environment in the Finnish companies. The event was full of like-minded people, who strive for technology and company growth.

Kasvu Open carnival event was excellent opportunity to meet people who have a passion for science and technology, just like me. These incredible people work for succesfully growing companies, like Tracegrow, that works with circular economy. They won the Superfinns sparring program this year. Their technology uses industrial side streams and recycled alkaline batteries, and convert it into sustainable products. The final products are, for example, agricultural fertilizers and industrial materials with a very low CO2 footprint. Personally, I am very proud that Tracegrow is the 2022 SuperFinn. As I am graduated in environmental and sanitary engineering, Tracegrow is definitely the company where I would like to work, after I complete my Master’s in Aquatic Science.

I will certainly take what I learned in my professional career. Kasvu Open and SuperFinns are not only events, it is who you are as a growth leader. And for being a SuperFinn, you must have courage and attitude, a global mindset, pure will to grow, and passion to learn.
