The Print Triennale Graphica Creativa launched an open call for the 16th triennial exhibition to be held in autumn 2022. The call was open from 1 September to 15 October 2021.

The international call reached artists from all over the world. By the deadline, 410 applications from 69 countries were received.

The theme of the 2022 Triennial is Untold Artist's Stories, and the open call was looking for works that have become particularly important to the artists themselves. The artists were also asked to write why the particular work had become important.

We were surprised and delighted by the large number of applicants and the diversity of the applications. In many of the applications, a theme that was especially relevant and close to the artist, made the work important to them. Also events in personal life and in the family had contributed to making a particular work special to the artist, says Jukka Partanen, a member of the Triennale’s curatorial team.

The artists selected for the exhibition will be announced in January 2022.

The 16th Graphica Creativa Triennale will be held at the Jyväskylä Art Museum from 17 September 2022 to 15 January 2023. Graphica Creativa is the oldest and the only regularly organized international print exhibition in the Nordic countries. The exhibition has been held in Jyväskylä since 1975.
