Vaccines have not arrived in accordance with the promised number of vaccines.

At the beginning of the year, the Ministry instructed us to prepare for the start of mass vaccinations in week 8, and arrangements were made according to this, says Johanna Tuukkanen, Chief Physician responsible for vaccinations in Jyväskylä, Hankasalmi and Uurainen.

Age is by far the most significant risk factor for COVID-19. Therefore vaccinations will be administered to the aged first. Appointments to coronavirus vaccination have been made for the aged as previously announced. Due to the shortage of vaccines, vaccination times could not be opened for people under the age of 70 at risk as planned.
