During this week a total of 47 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Jyväskylä. Jyväskylä's incidence rate has also decreased. The need for hospital care has not increased significantly either. Approximately 80% of the origin of infections can be traced. Consequently, Jyväskylä has returned to the accelerating phase of the coronavirus.

The Emergency Management Team stated in its meeting today (12 February) that since the infection situation has calmed down, sports activities for under-18 years old in the city premises can be opened on Monday 15 February after a 2-week break. The city's libraries and museums will also be reopened from 15 February 2021.  However, coronavirus guidelines should be followed carefully. The city's libraries will serve with limited services in February.

Pandemic is by no means over – a wide range of recommendations and restrictions remain in place

Other guidelines and restrictions will remain in force for example concerning adult sports activities, gatherings and a recommendation for use of facemasks. The coronavirus situation is still active and can change quickly.
