Jyväskylä is still in the spreading phase of the coronavirus epidemic. Last week, 123 new infections were detected, compared with around 240 the week before. The two-week incidence rate of coronavirus infections in Jyväskylä was as much as 229.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The need for hospital care in Jyväskylä has not started to grow significantly.

Last week, the disease was transmitted in following occasions:

  • 44 infections in families
  • 32 infections through friends, leisure and hobbies
  • 12 infections in schools
  • 4 infections in workplaces
  • in 29 cases the source of the infection was unknown

The number of infections was highest among persons aged 16 to 25.

The coronavirus situation is monitored daily in Jyväskylä. The next meeting of the Emergency Management Team will take place on Friday 12 February. The Emergency Management Team will review the restrictions on physical activity among children under the age of 18.
