The Craft Museum of Finland will open its exhibition to the public from Wed 3 June 2020.

In addition to the main exhibitions, there will be a lot of temporary exhibitions to explore, when on top of the spring exhibitions Woven Image and Under the Apple Tree, four new exhibitions will open for the summer – My Forest opens in the museum auditorium, The Magic of Tradition in the Alley Gallery, Herbarium –Assortment of a Generation of Handicrafts opens in the Window Gallery and Jyväskylä Crafts School 30-year anniversary exhibition opens in the Showroom.

Due to the coronavirus, we pay special attention to precautions and the cleanliness of the premises. Hand disinfectant as well as disposable gloves are available for guests. Floor stickers will remind You to maintain safety distance. We’ll receive a maximum of 50 visitors at a time at the museum, so that your visit will be safe. 

Guided tours, workshops or group reservations will not be accepted until after 31.7.2020.

Please, prefer card payments or Museum card for admission and if you have any flu symptoms, postpone your visit to another day. Our staff only works when they are healthy.

As a precaution, we have temporarily closed the use of some participatory sections of museum and exhibitions. Currently we have closed or disabled:

  • Open Workshop, 2nd floor.
  • Participatory sections of the permanent exhibition: knitting, weaving, the use of microscope and yarn laboratory
  • Audio guides in the permanent exhibition
  • Sensory space in the permanent exhibition, ground floor
  • National Costume Centre's public computer, 2nd floor.

We will update the instructions at the beginning of August according to the corona situation at the time.
