As recommended by the government, the City of Jyväskylä shuts down its leisure facilities, swimming pools and other sports facilities. All indoor and outdoor sports facilities of the City of Jyväskylä will be closed as of Tuesday, 17 March.
All city swimming pools and gyms will stay closed till 30 April. All sports services supporting wellbeing will be cancelled till 31 May. This applies to all guided and supervised sports, excercise and fitness groups, events and courses as well as to exercise guidance, adapted physical activity groups and voluntary activities.
Other indoor and outdoor sports facilities will stay closed until otherwise announced. This applies to all sports centres, ice rinks, outdoor sport fields, school sports facilities as well as to cross country skiing tracks and neighbourhood sports sites. In practice this also means that during this time the outdoor sports facilities will not be maintained or repaired. The facilities and sites can still be used. However, using them is everyone’s own responsibility. Also, please remember the government recommendations concerning the maximum allowed group size. Changes to these arrangements will be announced separately.
