Md. Sher E Khoda
Coordinator, Finn-Bangla Cultural Event 2019, Jyväskylä
In 2012, this event started as a cricket tournament with four cities competing in Tampere. Since then, the tournament has been held every year in various cities, with Jyväskylä hosting the event last time in the year 2015.
Both the scope and the popularity of the tournament has gradually grown over the years and last year’s tournament had 16 teams competing for the trophy in Espoo. In addition to the competing cricketers, the event draws many spectators as well as supporters on site.
This year the Finn-Bangla Cultural Event comes back to Jyväskylä with larger attention, both in size and significance. Therefore, in addition to cricket matches, which have traditionally been played by the gents, there will be other sporting opportunities for ladies and children.
