Craftsmen’s Museum

At the Craftsmen’s Museum, located in the historic Toivola Old Courtyard, you can book a guided tour for a small group. The tour explores Jyväskylä’s oldest preserved residential buildings: the Coppersmith’s House, the Carpenter’s House, and the Sparvin House. You’ll learn about life in 19th-century Jyväskylä and the stories behind these unique buildings.

You can also book a short craft session in the Sparvin House workshop as part of the guided visit. Due to the small size of the spaces, the maximum group size for both the tour and workshop is 10 people. For larger groups, it may be possible to split the group between the tour and workshop, or alternatively, part of the group can explore the museum shop and courtyard independently during the guided session.

The combined duration of the tour and workshop is up to 1 hour. All activities are free of charge. Group visits are available Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:00. Please note that the Coppersmith’s and Carpenter’s Houses are not fully accessible.
