How to get to the Museum of Central Finland

By car
If you are coming to the Museum of Central Finland by car, there is disc parking as follows: right by the museum (where there is accessible parking), a little further down along Alvar Aallon katu, and above the museum building near Keskussairaalantie. From the parking space that is located above the museum there is an outside staircase which leads to the main entrance of the museum. In addition, there is paid parking at the corner of Hannikaisenkatu and Alvar Aallon katu. More detailed locations of the parking spaces are shown on the map below.
By bus
The Museum of Central Finland can also be reached with public transport. The closest bus stops to the museum are the stop Museo 2 on Hannikaisenkatu street (on the map: 2) as well as the stop Yliopisto 1 on Keskussairaalantie street (on the map: 1). The museum is at an accessible distance of about 170 metres with a pram or pushchair from the Museo 2 stop. An outdoor staircase is the shortest path to and from the Yliopisto 1 stop. It is possible to go around the stairs via Seminaarinkatu street (1a) or Kramsunkatu street (1b), in which case the distance is about 400 metres.
