Need help with housing matters?

Housing Advice offers guidance and counselling on questions and challenges related to housing. Housing Advice is a confidential and free service for everyone living in Jyväskylä, whether you live in a rental unit, your own home, a shared apartment or another kind of housing.

You can contact us, for example, in these situations:

  • Finding a new home
  • Filling in housing applications
  • Applying for housing benefits and allowances
  • Questions about an upcoming move and getting settled
  • Difficulties paying rent or other financial housing problems
  • Disagreements between tenant and landlord
  • Maintaining your home during your tenancy
  • Planning ahead and preparing for changes in life situations, such as aging

WALK IN - Housing advice without an appointment

For all ages:

  • The Civic Activity Center Matara, Matarankatu 6 A 1, Thursdays on 29th of January, 26th of February, 26th of March, 30th of April and 28th of May from 13:00 until 15:00
  • Social services office Jyväskylä, Hannikaisenkatu 37, Wednesdays on 8th of April, (22th of April canceled), 6th of May, (20th of May canceled), 3rd of June, 17th of June, 1st of July from 12:00 until 14:00
  • Huhtasuo Library, Nevakatu 1, Wednesdays on 21st of January, 18th of February, 18th of March, 22nd of April and (20th of May canceled) from 13:00 until 15:00
  • Jyväskylä Employment Services, Hannikaisenkatu 11—13, Tuesdays on 14th of April, 28th of April, 12th of May, 26th of May from 12:00 to 14:00.

For under 30-year-olds:

  • At Ohjaamo Jyväskylä on Mondays from 12:00 until 16:00, Youth House 2nd floor, Asemakatu 4
  • Outside Walk In hours, you can book a personal appointment at Ohjaamo Jyväskylä by calling Housing Advice at 040 565 9593

Without a place to stay overnight?

If you have lost your home and have nowhere to sleep, you can go to Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland's housing emergency service, which is open around the clock.
