Building control fees
Building control charges fees for the processing of building permits and other building control measures in accordance with the building control tariff approved by the City Board. Tariff payments are not subject to VAT. In connection with the building permit fees, building control measurements carried out by land use are also charged: marking the location of the building and a location inspection of the building.

Service fees
Fees in accordance with the building control service tariffs are charged for tasks or measures that are not directly related to the supervision of construction subject to a permit, but that the building control department performs at the customer's request. The service tariff also defines the fees charged for archiving and copying services.
The determination of the fees requires that the inspections and tasks have been requested in writing by the customer, or that they are based on an agreement between the customer and the city.

Example calculation of the building permit fee
Building permit fee for a detached house with a total area of 150 m2 (includes the right to start before the building permit becomes legally valid):
• The basic fee for the permit is EUR 350 (section 2.2.1 of the tariff)
• total area 150 m² x EUR 5.70 = EUR 855 (section 2.2.2 of the tariff)
• approval of supervisors (responsible supervisor, HVAC supervisor, HVAC supervisor), á EUR 60 = EUR 180 (section 11.1 of the tariff)
• Right to start 200 euros (section 10.2 of the tariff)
Building control fees total 1585 euros.
In addition, the building permit invoice is subject to fees in accordance with the measures taken by the property engineer at a minimum:
• marking the place EUR 380
• Location survey 270 euros
Land use fees totalling EUR 650.
The total fee for the building permit is 2235 euros.
The permit invoice will be sent after the permit has been granted.
Discount on the permit fee for applications submitted in November–January
For a new residential building with no more than two apartments, the permit fee can be reduced by 20 percent of the fee based on the basic and total area of the permit, when the permit application and the required appendices have been submitted to building control between 1 November and 31 January.
The discount is not granted for land use fees, i.e. marking the building site and site inspection.
