Self-service Libraries of Jyväskylä

In addition to the normal opening times, the following libraries have self-service times.
During these times, the library staff is not present but you may access the library with your own library card and pin code.

WELCOME – HOW TO GET IN

Log in with the unit on the wall: 
1. Insert your library card in to the reader the barcode upwards.
2. Type your pin code.
3. Open the door.
4. The lights go on and off automatically.

Customers under 15 years of age are required to register as self-service library customers by a contract signed by their guardian to be able to use self-service libraries independently. The guardian together with their child must familiarize themselves with the library space and its safety before the child can use the library during self-service hours. If accompanied by an adult under 15 year olds need not to log in.

The customer is responsible for behavior of all the persons they let in.

WHAT YOU CAN DO IN THE LIBRARY

All self-service libraries:

  • borrow and return material on the self-service machines
  • collect and borrow your reservations on the self-service machines
  • read magazines and newspapers
  • use the internet and information retrieval on the customer computers
  • access the Wi-Fi

In Keltinmäki, Kortepohja, Kuokkala, Palokka and Tikkakoski also:

  • use a coin-operated copy machine to make copies, print, scan or save files to a USB drive or email (scanning is free of charge)

You can pay the library fees only when the staff is present.

GOODBYE – WHEN LEAVING THE LIBRARY

Leave all the equipment and lights on. They shall automatically switch off after the opening hours. Check the door is closed.
