The seventh largest city in Finland, Jyväskylä received city rights in 1837. At the end of 2025, there were 149 895 people living in our city. That is 701 more than the year (2024) before. 

City of Jyväskylä is situated at the northern end of the scenic lake Päijänne, 270 kilometres north from Helsinki.
