Educational Groups and Schools

Educational groups can visit the museum free of charge. Visits may be either guided or self-guided.
If your group would like a guided tour, please contact the museum educator at least two weeks before your visit. We also recommend informing the museum in advance of self-guided visits.

The museum offers free guided tours and educational visits for school classes and student groups. In addition, sixth-grade pupils in Jyväskylä can participate in Cultural Compass visits.

Adult students can learn about museum work through courses, internships, and volunteer activities.

Culture Guides (Kulttuuriluotsit) are volunteer cultural companions who can accompany visitors to museums and other cultural events. You can request a Culture Guide through Matara by contacting [email protected].
