Free activities for young people

Rapina ry, the literary art organization of Central Finland, holds monthly literary art workshops on the third Wednesday of each month. These workshops aim to introduce participants to the world of literary art through easy activities and exercises that do not require previous experience with literary art or creative writing. Rapina’s workshops are organized by professional literary art instructors who are experienced in the fields of literature, journalism, drama, social media, and pedagogy.

Our activities are mostly in Finnish, but in the future we may offer events or courses targeted for non-native speakers as well. We also offer workshops in English.

Literary art workshops are free of charge and advance registration is not required. Each workshop has a different theme, which will be revealed in advance on Rapina’s social media channels. Make sure to bring your own writing supplies such as a laptop or a pencil and some paper. While Rapina’s workshops are primarily aimed towards adults, younger participants are welcome to join as well.

Rapina offers both face-to-face workshops and online meetings. Face-to-face workshops are held at the Jyväskylä City Library (Vapaudenkatu 39-41). A link to online workshops will be displayed on Rapina’s web page next to the meeting’s date and description

On Jubbailu, you can participate our monthly meetings and take part in our voice-acting projects. The communication happens on our Facebook group, "Jubbailu Crew", which you can always apply to if interested in joining.

Binding registration applies only when you have joined a project to voice act and lasts until you have finished your part of it. After that, you're free to wait and join whenever the next project of your taste comes available.

Lipetti-workshop is for 17-29 year old people. Workshop is based on voluntarity and we plan and do activities together. Lipetti is non-contract and drug-free.

Activities may include arts and crafts, playing games, going to trips (like museum, nature, events or other workshops etc.) and cooking etc. If you are interested in meeting new people, need activities for your freetime or your every day life is looking for a direction, Lipetti is for you!

Lipetti is located at Väinönkatu 30 (3rd floor) in Jyväskylä city center. We are open thursdays and fridays at 10 am to 14 pm. You can participate at your own schedules and resources. If you have any questions or like to arrange meeting, please contact us through phone or email.

Since 2010, Comic Group of Central Finland (Keski-Suomen Sarjakuvaseura) has been a group of people enthusiastic about comics, which strives to maintain the comics culture of Central Finland in the form of various comic book publications and events.

Our weekly meetings are in the restaurant Musta Kynnys (agelimit: 18) in the center of the city on even-numbered weeks, and in Rentukka's clubhouse (Taitoniekantie 9) on odd-numbered weeks. The meetings are held on Wednesdays from 6PM to 8PM (or until later if there are still people there) and everyone interested in comics is welcome!

The purpose of this group is to bring together people from Jyväskylä who are between teenage and middle age. There will be a variety of different activities for example, playing games, hanging out, and exercising together. Activities is planned together with the group members.

Fantasiapelit is a store specializing in board games (including card, miniature, and role playing games) and comics. They also organize weekly game events and tournaments.

Weekly events include board game evenings (usually on Mondays), miniature painting evenings (usually on Thursdays), as well as card game tournaments and free play events (including Magic: the Gathering, Flesh and Blood, Pokemon and Lorcana).

Veturitallit offers free facilities for activities and events of young people under the age of 29.

The place has activities such as gaming, arts & crafts, musical equipment, band practice spaces, substance-free gigs and events, possibilities for performing and organizing art exhibitions. Veturitallit is a safe space to hang around in 5 days a week.
