Jyväskylä is located in Central Finland, less than three-hours drive from Helsinki. It is also easy to arrive to Jyväskylä from everywhere in Finland by train or a car. A flight connection also exists.

One of the best sports research centres in the world is located in Jyväskylä: The Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä has been ranked among the 10 best units in the world two years in a row (Shanghai Ranking).

And that is not all. Besides Likes, an organisation that researches the people’s exercise habits, Jyväskylä is the home of Kihu. Kihu, the Finnish top research institute of professional sports, improves the quality and effectiveness of the training of athletes and coaches in cooperation with national and international partners.

The climate change also impacts the organising of sports events.  In Finland, the climate is pleasantly warm in the summer, and the temperature will not disrupt or prevent the athlete’s performance.
