Green Loop (Kehä Vihreä in finnish) is a network of green and recreational areas surrounding the center of Jyväskylä, bringing nature, art, and culture closer to city residents. This ring-shaped chain of parks offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities, hiking, and experiencing urban nature.

Explore the green canyon of the Tourujoki Valley, the art of Sepänpuisto Park, the historic architecture of Seminaarinmäki and the urban environment of Kangas.

Explore and enjoy Green Loop with the help of a mobile map

With the Citynomadi mobile map, you can find destinations and get additional information about them. You can use the map with your browser, and descriptions are available in both Finnish and English. Paper maps are available from the Jyväskylä Tourist Office.

Green Loop is an experiential place

Art brings new dimensions to Green Loop. Six different art trails invite visitors to explore the environment with different senses and emotions. The art concept creates experiences and enriches the landscape.

Sports facilities can be found especially in Hippos and at the Viitaniemi beach, but the outdoor gyms in Harju and Rantaraitti are also popular destinations for many fitness enthusiasts. Get your heart rate up on the fitness stairs, build muscle strength at the outdoor gym, or play ball games at Viitaniemi beach. All this is free of charge!
