The City of Jyväskylä’s trainee program offers the opportunity to get involved in the city’s specialist, development, and project roles. The program is designed to support your professional growth, provide practical experience, and help you build your own career path.
As a trainee, you’ll have the chance to work in various departments across the city — exactly where your skills are needed and where you’ll learn the most.
City of Jyväskylä Trainee Program
The City of Jyväskylä Trainee Program is designed for university students in the region who are nearing the end of their studies, as well as recent graduates who want to develop their skills, gain experience in the municipal sector, and have a say in the development of one of Finland’s fastest-growing cities.
Trainees get to work as part of a work community, receiving support from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to participate in team projects and development tasks. Each trainee’s skills are considered individually, and the program offers an opportunity to identify personal strengths and gain experience in the diverse tasks of the municipal sector. The program creates a strong foundation for building one’s own career path.
The program also brings together trainees working in different sectors, offering the chance to get to know colleagues across sectoral boundaries and form a network that provides peer support, new perspectives, and the opportunity to learn together.
Duration and Compensation of the Trainee Program
Trainees are hired for a 3-month fixed-term, paid employment contract, with a monthly salary ranging from €1,835.63 to €2,260, depending on the job description.
If necessary, the trainee period can be combined with an internship, or if you are a recent graduate and an unemployed job seeker, a work trial can be arranged prior to the trainee period.
Application
The trainee program is open to students in the final stages of their higher education studies (universities and universities of applied sciences) as well as recent graduates.
Trainee periods are organized throughout the year, and application schedules may vary by business area. You can find more information about the schedules in the job postings.
