International House Jyväskylä, in co-operation with citys business coordinators, offers a wide range of services to employers in the Jyväskylä region, ranging from finding a worker to orientation and developing the communication skills of the work community.
We provide the following types of support services for employers in the Jyväskylä region:

Guidance on finding and hiring an employee
The City of Jyväskylä offers free services to employers related to recruitment and employment. The business coordinators of our employer services help you with recruitment, as well as information and guidance on how to apply for various forms of support.

Welcome to work! Help with the orientation of a foreign-language employee
We can accompany an employee at the beginning of the employment relationship (maximum 10 hours per employee). We clarify work assignments and rules of work in easy Finnish as well as in English and Russian. At the same time, we help to find common methods of interaction that support mutual understanding.

Starting Finnish-language instruction
Finnish language instruction helps your foreign-language employees perform their work better in Finnish. Customised traineeship develops the necessary Finnish skills at your workplace and in your work assignments. Training is available face-to-face or remotely.
Language instruction can also be carried out in groups. The maximum is about 20 hours per employee.

Support for intercultural interaction in the work community
One-to-two hour instruction for supervisors or the entire work community helps you to work together more successfully. The following courses are currently available:
