Career advising for immigrants in the Jyväskylä region

Career advisors will help you find a job, a place to study, or plan your own business.

Career advisors organize various events and groups where you obtain the knowledge and skills that will help you find employment or training and be part of Finland’s work life.

You can read more about current events and where they are organised in Finnish, English and Russian. You will see the language of the event when you read the notification. 

Current events and courses: Events and courses at International House Jyväskylä

Events usually take place at Hannikaisenkatu 11-13 (street address). If the address is different, it will be reported in the notice. Remember to read carefully about whether you need to register for the event. 

You can also book an appointment to see a career advisor. Career advisor help and advise you if you are thinking about things related to looking for a job, studies and your own business, such as the following:

• What do you know how to do? What kind of expertise do you need to find a job?
• Do you want to work or study? Where can you find a suitable place to study? How to look for a job? 
• How to write a CV or job application? How do you tell employers about your skills in the application documents or in interviews?
• Do you want to start your own business? What do you have to think about and know? Where can you get advice on starting a business?

If you want to book an appointment with a career advisor, you can call or send a text message / email. Next to the contact information, you can see which language the career advisor speaks.

You can choose a career advisor in accordance with the language you speak. An interpreter can also be utilised.

You can also visit us without an appointment if you have a short matter or question to ask.

Services without appointment: Tuesdays 12—15, Wednesdays 9—12 and Thursdays 9—12.
