- The City of Jyväskylä is responsible for supervising private early childhood education services.
- The city provides guidance and advice to approved private service providers.
- Guidance and supervision are based on the Jyväskylä Private Early Childhood Education Rules and the Early Childhood Education Act.
If a child’s parent or other guardian is dissatisfied with the quality of private early childhood education or related treatment, they have the right to submit a complaint or notification of concern (in finnish) to the daycare director, the person responsible for the unit, or the leading official in early childhood education.
Notifications should primarily be made in writing.
Other feedback about the operation of the early childhood education unit can also be given directly to the service provider or to the service coordinators responsible for private early childhood education.
Private early childhood education follows the Early Childhood Education Act as well as other national guidelines, regulations, and documents. When using the private care allowance or purchasing other temporary early childhood education services from a private provider, families are asked to confirm with the Growth and Learning Customer Service that the private daycare or family day care provider has submitted the required notification of operations (Early Childhood Education Act, Section 44).
