Taideapteekki - culture for the elderly

Kino Aurora and Taideapteekki will organise four Kino Hopea film screenings in the spring of 2026. There are screenings once a month, from January to April, and the performance day changes back to Friday at the request of the audience.

In the spring, you can participate in all Kino Aurora's Day Cinema screenings with a €10 ticket, and this same discounted ticket price also applies to Kino Hopea. In addition, the Kino Hopea screenings include a changing discussion guest with whom you can delve into the film you have watched. The screening dates and films for the spring will be published on Kino Aurora's website, where you can make a reservation for Kino Hopea.

Lauluste voimaa sing along events are held in libraries during the spring. At the events, which are open to everyone, Finnish evergreen tunes are sung and the power of singing together is enjoyed! The events will be led by Niko Saloheimo and the Kruuvaus duo.

Wellbeing Afternoons bring short informational sessions related to promoting health and wellbeing to nearby areas. At some of the events, it is possible to receive low-threshold guidance from a nurse at the Senior Wellbeing Clinic. The events are organized by the Central Finland Welfare Region, the City of Jyväskylä, and the Jyväskylä church community 

Wellbeing Afternoons are regularly organised in different parts of Jyväskylä: in Vaajakoski, Palokka, Korpilahti, Kuokkala and Kangas.

Elämää eläkkeellä - Life in Retirement

The senior citizen organisations, the Council for the Elderly of the City of Jyväskylä and the Cultural Services are jointly organising an event aimed at retired and soon-to-retire city residents.

The event provides information about organisational and council work and the Taideapteekki spring programme. The event will also feature Katja Kokko's speech on late adulthood.

Marita Taavitsainen: The Sun Kissed Us – Valentine's Day Concert

The concert "The Sun Kissed Us" will feature Marita Taavitsainen, who has had a 30-year career in Finnish pop music, accompanied by musician Rami Loukola. The program will feature notable songs from Marita's career, as well as other songs about love in honor of Valentine's Day.

The concert will last approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, including an intermission. Palokan Pelimannitalo café will be open to the public during the intermission.

Culture Stage: In the Footsteps of Struve – Taideapteekki and Teatterikone

Come to the Culture Stage to hear about Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve's intelligent innovation and its effects up to the present day. At the same time, you will hear theme songs and stories on the subject led by actor-musician Aaro Vuotila. The program is in Finnish.

Vanhan Valamon Juuli – musical monologue

Vanhan Valamon Juuli is a story about the fate of life and the journey it destines, its beginning and end. Script, dramatization, direction and performance: Jonna Ortju. The monologue is performed in Finnish.

Spring Singing of Senior Choirs

The event will feature performances by local Senior Choirs and their conductors, and there will also be sing-alongs. Free entry!

Niityltä tuulee -monologue, Maija Piitulainen

In her performance, artist Maija Piitulainen uses touching words to highlight the modest heroes of the past, multi-talented women. The performance features storytelling and memories from different chapters of life, ranging from sorrow to hope and joy. Monologue is performed in Finnish.
