Modern Finnish tapestry takes a stand, lives, and breathes according to its maker

The joint exhibition of four famous Finnish textile artists Ariadna Donner, Soile Hovila, Aino Kajaniemi and Inka Kivalo in Craft Museum of Finland 4.1.-17.5.2020 brings out the variety of modern tapestries beautifully. The tapestries in the exhibition represent different techniques, approaches and styles according to their artists.

Walk-in flu vaccination clinics in Jyväskylä, Hankasalmi and Uurainen

Flu vaccination clinics are organized for Jyväskylä, Hankasalmi and Uurainen residents. Adults will be vaccinated at Kyllö health centre. Pregnant women and families with children will be vaccinated at the Palokan neuvola maternity and child health clinic. Walk-in flu vaccination clinics will run on the following three Saturdays: 30 November 2019, 08:00-17:30, 14 December 2019, 08:00-17:30 and 11 January 2020, 08:00-17:30. Please note that these are walk-in clinics, and you do not need to book an appointment in advance to attend.

Waltti mobile ticket introduced for Linkki tickets

Customers can now use the Waltti Mobile app to buy Linkki public transport tickets (singe and day tickets) and to plan their journeys using the journey finder. The price of a single ticket is cheaper when bought through the app than from the driver. The app is free to download from the iOS or Android app stores.

In autumn 2019 elected representatives and officials of the City of Jyväskylä will visit on 4 September in Korpilahti , on 18 September in Palokka on 9 October in Tikkakoski and on 6 November in Kuokkala.

The heart of Jyväskylä (Jyväskylän sydän) project presents optional locations for cultural and art institutions

The project is looking into various scenarios regarding the type of activities and locations. It aims at developing the operations of the Jyväskylä City Theatre, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Jyväskylä Art Museum, Craft Museum of Finland, City Library and Adult Education Centre in terms of activities, premises and facilities. The vision is to create an active hub for arts and culture in heart of the the city. The best proposal for both activities and locations is due for release by January 2020.

Finn-Bangla Cultural Event 2019 in Jyväskylä on 27 -28 July

The Finn-Bangla Cultural Event is an annual gathering and sport event that brings together Bangladeshis living in various Finnish cities. The event is organized on 27 - 28 July at the Huhtasuo fields (Kangasvuorentie 18). Spectators interested in this event can see different sporting activities, including cricket, at the Huhtasuo fields from 9 to19 on Saturday and Sunday. Altogether 18 teams from different cities will come to play cricket, of which two are from Jyväskylä. The Finn-Bangla Cultural Event is free and open to public.
