IT-alan asiantuntijan tarina
Olen Nidhi Sachdev ja olen kotoisin Intiasta. Minulla on IT-alan kandidaatin tutkinnon ja suoritin sitä vuonna 2005 Mumbain yliopistossa. Minulla on myös 10 vuotta kokemusta IT alalta. Olin töissä IBM:ssa ja Capgeminissa Intiassa. Tuona aikana olen työskennellyt kehittäjänä, teknisenä tiimin johtajana ja IT arkkitehtina. Olen ollut myös japanissa noin 2 vuotta työskentelemässä eri projekteissa. Vuonna 2016 menin pois työelämästä koska perheeseemme syntyi lapsi.
Tulin Jyväskylään vuonna 2020 Tammikuussa perheen kanssa mieheni työn takia. Sitten osallistuin TE toimiston jäseneksi koska halusin aloittaa mun urani uudelleen. Olen opiskellut suomen kieltä TE toimiston kotoutumiskursilla, viime vuoden Huhtikuusta lähtien.
Suomen kurssilla meillä oli 2 työharjoittelua ja näistä yksi oli International Jyväskylä - Info Center hankkeen kanssa. Siellä tutustuin myös maahanmuuttajien osaamiskeskuksen työntekijöihin, koska heidän työpaikka oli myös samassa toimistossa. Minä puhuin Timon kanssa että olen etsinyt töitä ja hän kysyi mun tausta. Minä lähetin hänelle minun CV:ta mikä minä olin tehnyt suomeksi. Timo auttoi minua korjaamaan virheitä mikä oli mun CV:ssa ja antoi minulle myös vinkkejä miten voin kirjoittaa asiat paremmin. Timo myös soitti työpaikkaan, johon minä olin lähettänyt hakemuksen ja suositteli minua koska hän on tiennyt että olin ahkera työntekijä. Timo ja Anna myös tekivät minun kanssa tekohaastattelua. Se oli suuri apua minulle ja tämä kaikki sai minut itsevarmempi. Haluaisin kiitellä myös minun kaikki opettajille koska he auttoivat minua paljon ja ilman heitä en voi puhua suomea niin hyvin kuin nyt osaan.
Sain toivomani työpaikan. Halusin olla töissä uudelleen IT alalla ja jatkaa minun urani ja sain työtä mielenkiintoista yritykseltä. Haluan vielä opiskella suomea niin paljon kuin mahdollista ja toivon että mun kieli taso kehittyy työssä. Haluan myös oppia työssä paljon uusia teknologia jotka on tullut IT alalle kuin olin pois työelämästä. Jos kaikki menee hyvin, ehkä voimme omistaa myös taloa suomessa. Sormet ristissä :)
Nidhi's story in English
I'm Nidhi Sachdev, and I'm from India. I have a bachelor's degree in IT and completed it in 2005 at the University of Mumbai. I also have 10 years of experience in it. I worked at IBM and Capgemini in India. During that time, I have worked as a developer, technical team leader and IT architect. I have also been in Japan for about 2 years working on various projects. In 2016, I went out of work because a child was born into our family.
I came to Jyväskylä in 2020 with my family in January because of my husband's work. Then I bed as a member of the TE office because I wanted to start my career again. I have been studying Finnish at the TE office integration course since April last year.
In the Finnish course we had 2 internships and one of these was with the International Jyväskylä - Info Center project. There, I also got to know the employees of the Expertise Centre for Immigrants, because their job was also in the same office. I talked to Timo about me looking for a job, and he asked me about my background. I sent him my CV, which I had done in Finnish. Timo helped me fix the mistakes that were on my CV and also gave me tips on how to write things better. Timo also called the job I had sent an application to and recommended me because he knew I was a hard worker. Timo and Anna also did a fake interview with me. It was a great help to me and this all made me more confident. I would also like to thank all my teachers because they helped me a lot and without them I cannot speak Finnish as well as I can now.
I got the job I wanted. I wanted to work again in the IT industry and continue my career and got a job interesting from the company. I still want to study Finnish as much as possible, and I hope that my language level will develop at work. I also want to learn a lot of new technology at work that has entered the IT industry as I was out of working life. If all goes well, maybe we can also own a house in Finland. Fingers crossed :)
